Best Modern Ceiling Fans Under $200

We love spring, but here in Central Texas, we get about a week or two of it before our high temperatures and drought conditions make it feel like an eight-month summer. Some designers turn their noses up at ceiling fans, but you’ll take mine out over my cold, dead body–we just can’t survive around here without them. But that doesn’t mean they have to look like crap or cost an arm and a leg. If your budget is tight, I’ve put together this list of the best-looking modern options under $200. Here’s my criteria for best design:

– Size: 52″, the most common size used in living rooms and bedrooms
– Light fixtures included. Hey, I hate overhead lighting like every other woman on the planet, but sometimes you need floodlights to find stuff.
– No “boob” lights (the kind that look like they have a nipple on the bottom)
– No exposed light bulbs (who needs the extra glare?)
– Minimal look
